Happy 1st Birthday Prince George! Paul Davis Restoration of Cincinnati couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate Prince George’s first birthday than to compile a home maintenance list that should be completed and celebrated annually as well!

Summer is a great time to focus on the outside of your home. Below is a summer maintenance list to make sure your home stays in tip top shape! You should perform these tasks annually, while they may not be as fun as celebrating a birthday they will keep you from future headaches!

Inspect your hoses/plumbing for leaks – Go around all your hoses, faucets, and toilets and inspect for leaks.

Take care of insect problems – Obviously insects are more active in the summer which makes it is easier to see insect problems you may have and get rid of them.

Clean and repair your patio / deck – Wash your deck / patio and re-stain if necessary. Repair posts and lose boards.

Window Well Cleaning – If you have a basement with window wells clean them out. All kinds of things can get down there like leaves, trash, and bugs / animals.

Clean and check exterior exhaust vents and dryer vents –Go outside to your clothes dryer vent. Clean all of the lint and debris that has built up. Clean the tubing from your dryer to the wall and underneath your clothes dryer, you can use a vacuum to do this.

Clean Garage – With all the dust that accumulates in the garage you should actually clean it more than once a year! Make sure to give your garage a thorough cleaning! Keeping it clean will allow you to use it more and extend its life.

Roof Check- Look at the ceiling on the inside of your home for any discoloration as this could be an indicator of a leak. You can also see from the street view if there are missing tiles or curled tiles. Asphalt shingles typically last 20 years. If you have roof damage it is best to have it repaired by a professional.

Siding –To get rid of or keep mold from growing clean siding with a pressure washer.
